Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a string of social media posts hints at it, Italian supercar maker Lamborghini finally announced its NFT (non fungible token) Project. It's called Space Key and created in collaboration with an unknown artist and built on a piece of advanced carbon fiber composite material that was sent to the International Space Station for research purposes.

The latest project, named the Space Key, is a piece that was developed in collaboration with an unknown artist. The NFT is a unique piece of digital art that can be accessed through the use of a QR code. The project is limited and will be auctioned off within the next few weeks.

The physical aspect of the Space Key

After multiple social media posts, each one revealing something space-themed the Italian supercar maker Lamborghini launched its non-fungible (NFT) tokens through an exclusive project called Space Key. Created in collaboration with an unknown artist, the NFT is a collectible item that will be auctioned off within a few weeks time. Its core is a piece composed of a high-tech carbon fibre composite material, which was shipped to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a study. Carbon fiber was 3D-printed for the base of each Space Key. Each Space Key is linked to an exclusive digital artwork by way of an QR code. Five Space Keys have been produced.

NFTs are unique IDs that can be logged in distributed ledgers such as the Blockchain, and linked to digital assets such as images. It's a hot topic with people with more money than common sense. It was only a matter of time until automakers decided to take advantage of.

Space Key is made up of five parts. It was created using a piece of carbon fiber composite. It was sent to the ISS back in 2019. Each NFT will be linked with an exclusive digital artwork created by the same artist by using an QR code that is located on the backside of the carbon fiber component. The digital artwork

After months of social media posts hinting at it, luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini has finally revealed its first non-fungible token (NFT) project. The Space Key is a collection of five physical items which unlocks a unique digital artwork by an unknown artist. The 'collectors piece' was developed in collaboration with NFTPRO(tm) and is limited to only five units. It will be auctioned soon.

Each Space Key contains a block composed of carbon-fired composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station as part of a 2019 research program. After returning to Earth it was imprinted with the QR code which links it to the digital component of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that happens seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. More than 600 million pixels each of the five images that were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner used an inflatable camera fitted with lenses to capture the individual images, which were later put together into the final image. The result is an image that is out of this world. It captures both the beauty of Earth and the futuristic, hyperrealistic view of a car rising away from the Earth. The Space Keys will be auctioned off soon, but the exact date and time of the event haven't been set yet.

The auction

The auctions, which begin between February 1 through February 4, last for 75 hours and 50 minutes - the same time it took Apollo 11 to leave Earth and enter lunar orbit. The five NFTs can be purchased by making an online registration. Each one will be auctioned by itself and the winner will be awarded an original digital art work created by the renowned photographer Fabian Oefner, which captures the five different moments that the Space Key passed during its journey through space.
