A robot vacuum/mop set-up is the ideal option for pets who shed fur. The machine can mop, vacuum and clean its own dual mop pad.

It also has the highest suction power of any robot we've tested, with 8,000Pa. It can also save your home's maps and set cleaning schedules from its app.

1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the most recent in the Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is dry and wet is equipped with the latest AIVI 3D2.0 lidar system Ecovacs, which offers enhanced mapping and obstruction-free operation. The system uses dual-laser LiDAR similar to the kind you'd find in self-driving cars -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet wide by 270 degrees. This results in more precise mapping, faster response times, and higher cleaning accuracy.

It also comes with a rotating mopping mat constructed of chenille. This makes it much easier to scrub hard-to-clean spots than conventional mopping. In my testing, the X2 Omni took just over a minute to wash its pad and get to work. I also noticed that it was more precise than previous models that were able to follow a grid-like path around rooms. It was able to navigate my rooms with its corners and edges as well as create a "Zambani pattern" up and down the middle of the room. It also returned to its OMNI station frequently to empty the dustbin and clean the mop using hot water prior to beginning another clean-up job.

Like other Ecovacs products The X2 Omni is easy to set up and begin using. Simply snap the dock into place, plug it in and pair it with your home WiFi network. It only takes some minutes. Then, you can start the app and start with your first task of cleaning. I was able to dig into the settings and modify my floor plan in about 15 minutes, incorporating zones that are restricted for mopping and sweeping and reworking my furniture placements, and more. The X2 Omni impressed me during my tests. It scored well in the areas of pet hair removal as well as debris removal. It also had near-perfect results for edge and crevices cleaning.

2. Deebot T10 Omni

If you're looking for a strong combination of mopping and vacuuming then check out the ECOVACS Deebot T10 Omni. It is the most sophisticated of the T-line offered by the company and comes with the OZMO Turbo2.0 mopping system that utilizes a dual-spinning brush for superior cleaning than the traditional scrubbers. It also has YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a wide range of voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, establish cleaning schedules, and adjust settings.

The biggest con with the T10 Omni is that it can't switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single run. The T10 Omni has two modes that require you to attach mop heads to and from the vacuum depending on your requirements. This is fine for most households, but not so for people who have a busy schedule.

However, the Deebot T10 Omni is a superb robot vacuum and delivers impressive results in our pet hair tests. It removed more than 96% of debris from our hardwood floors. This is an excellent performance. It did an excellent job on carpets and tiles cleaning up the majority of dirt.

This robot vacuum and mops has a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning with cool water for the mop pads. It also has an auto-emptying 3L bag that's easy to replace, and hot air drying for fast and easy maintenance. It also has a large water tank that allows for more frequent rinses and dries between mopping runs.

Like other mopping machines like the Deebot T10 Omni, it features a wash tray in its base that rinses and dries the mop pads when it uses them. But it doesn't use an open tray, which means that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime slowly builds up in the bottom of the tray over time.

3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid

While Anker-owned Eufy is well-known in the field of robot vacuums, this model is its first foray into the world of mopping. It has upgraded intelligence and support for multiple maps, LIDAR scanning and twin-turbine technology that automatically adjusts for the surface you are cleaning. It's a tempting mid-range robot vacuum cleaner although it can't exactly live up to its promise of being the ultimate source for floor cleaning.

The X8 Hybrid appears to be an ordinary robotic cleaner from the top. It has a circular form, sweeping wheels, and an elevated sensor area. Flip it over, however you'll see a motorised floor brush plus a single side sweeper brush that pushes dirt from the edges into the main pathway of the robot's'mouth'. It's a little smaller than the main brushes on the competing iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to access under sofas and chairs.

Its mapping system is fairly sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones as well as specific cleaning zones. It is prone to hitting objects like its charging station, and isn't very good at climbing over carpets. It did a great job of picking up pet hair on bare floors, though, and in our tests it was able to pick up 89.5% of kitty litter - a figure that is higher than any of the most powerful robots we've tested.

Although it's controlled through the app it's also controllable via the app. X8 Hybrid also comes with physical buttons on its base that allow you to choose the cleaning mode and switch the robot off or on. These buttons can be used to establish no-go areas and look up maps in real-time. It's a bit chatty, as well, Best Robot Vacuum For Thick Carpet and Pet Hair and will inform you of what it's planning to do next ("start cleaning") or warn you that something is wrong (it doesn't have enough power to charge, for instance).

It is Wi-Fi-enabled and is best controlled through the Neato app which allows cleaning to be scheduled and overall maintenance needs be monitored. The X2 Omni is a great option for homes with large spaces with a mix of hard and carpet flooring. However it will require some planning ahead to avoid getting caught on electrical cables, toys or other unintentional obstructions.

In our hardwood floor and kibble tests, this robot performed well and picked up everything from one grain of rice to multiple pieces of dog food in one pass. It did have some issues with rugs, but generally the vacuum cleaner is ideal for rooms with both types of flooring and a mix of pets.

It is a bit pricey, but if you can afford it, it's a great purchase for those who want to be able to leave their homes free to do other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro has a convenient auto-cleaning feature that increases suction to tackle the most difficult spills or dirt. It also includes a battery-powered ElectroWall to establish boundaries for the robot vacuum mop pet hair.

This budget-friendly robot from a popular brand is the cheapest we've ever tested and offers an outstanding value for the money. Its basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This makes it less efficient than other models in this list. However it's still able get under furniture and into corners and its mopping feature performed well in our testing it picked up pet hair and other debris easily.

5. Shark iQ

Shark's iQ may not be as well-built as the Roomba S9, but it is superior in general at cleaning up pet hair on all surfaces. It gets rid of floors with less thoroughly and does a good job on carpets with low pile and also utilizes smart-pathing navigational technology to provide better maneuverability. It also lets you send it to a specific area, and its advanced set of automation features include no-go zones and scheduling. It allows you to suspend and restart cleaning sessions which is ideal for homes with pets.

The self-cleaning brushroll eliminates tangles and can hold up to 30 day's worth of dirt. It has a set of angled side brushes that can reach into corners and a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, dander and allergens.

The robot vacuum is built well and feels solid. It works with an app for smartphones that allows you to change the vacuum's settings and schedule cleaning times ahead of time. The app allows you to check the remaining battery life of the iQ and receive push notifications when it encounters any issues during the cleaning session. You can utilize your voice to control it with an Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant device or, if you do not have either of these devices, you can mark areas with physical boundary marker strips.

lefant-m210p-robot-vacuum-cleaner-featurThe iQ can do a decent job of removing bare floors and does a decent job on low-pile and shaggy carpet however, it doesn't have the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It's also expensive and its ongoing expenses can add up over time.
